Meeting Agenda and Themes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the eighth governing council meeting of Niti Aayog, with the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Team India’. The meeting will take place at the new Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The prime focus will be on discussing key issues related to health, skill development, women empowerment, and infrastructure development. The objective is to pave the way for India’s development as a fully developed nation by 2047.
Participation and Preparatory Conference
The meeting will witness the participation of Chief Ministers, Lt. Governors of all States and Union Territories, Union Ministers, and the Vice Chairman and Members of Niti Aayog. The 2nd Chief Secretaries Conference, held earlier, served as a preparatory prelude to the Governing Council Meeting. Stakeholder consultations, brainstorming sessions with subject experts, academia, and practitioners were conducted to gather diverse perspectives and insights.

As the world’s fifth-largest economy and the most populous nation, India is at a crucial stage in its economic development trajectory, with the potential for accelerated growth in the next 25 years. The meeting aims to create a roadmap for Viksit Bharat by 2047, emphasizing collaboration between the Centre and States as Team India. India’s socioeconomic growth and transformation are expected to have a positive and multiplier effect on the international community.

The meeting aligns with India’s G20 Presidency and its motto of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future,’ which reflects the country’s civilizational values and its vision for global leadership based on shared development. The meeting acknowledges the interlinkage between India’s growth and the growth of its states, emphasizing the inclusive and sustainable vision for the next quarter-century.
