Peru President Calls For National Truce, As Violence Spread Through The Nation.

Dina Boluarte, the president of Peru, calls for a “national truce” as violent protests spread throughout the nation.

Over 50 people have been killed and about 700 people have been injured as a result of a peaceful protest that descended into violence.

As violent protests sweep through the capital of the country for the second day in a row, thousands of demonstrators and police have clashed in Peru.

While being doused in tear gas, protesters took over key streets in downtown Lima and engaged police in ongoing combat.
