BNP and other opposition parties, alliances, and organizations are planning to hold rallies across Bangladesh on Wednesday as part of their ongoing movement to oust the current government.
The rallies, which will take place in Dhaka and other cities and towns, are being held to protest the introduction of one-party rule by the Awami League in 1975, rising prices of power and gas, and increasing pressure on the government to accept their 10-point demand, which includes holding the next election under a non-party caretaker government.
BNP will hold its rally at 2 PM in front of its Naya Paltan central office in Dhaka, where Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will speak.
This will be the fourth program of the simultaneous movement after a mass procession in December 30, a sit-in on January 11 and a rally and procession on January 16.
Other parties like Ganatantra Mancha, 12-Party Alliance, Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote, LDP, and Ganatantrik Bam Oikya will also hold rallies in different locations.
