Residents of Ondo state flocked to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices across the state yesterday to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had declared Tuesday as a work-free day for state workers to collect their PVCs, leading to large crowds and difficulties for INEC officials.
Many residents expressed frustration with the process and called for the work-free day to be extended to allow more eligible voters to collect their cards.
The coordinator of WE VOTE NIGERIA, Mr. Emmanuel Aje, stated that the collection process was tedious due to many registered voters failing to collect their PVCs during distribution at the ward level.
INEC officials acknowledged the crowded conditions and urged registered voters to not wait until the last minute to collect their PVCs.
