The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the upcoming Lagos State governor elections, Olufunso Doherty, has pledged to unwind the tax consulting firm Alpha Beta if elected.
Alpha Beta, a company linked to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, handles the reconciliation of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in Lagos.
In a recent Governorship Debate held in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Doherty stated his intentions to review all projects and tax collections in the state.
He intends to declare a state of emergency on the roads and flash points, ban the collection of tax levies on the highways, and launch a review of the Fourth Mainland Bridge project.
Doherty also plans to publish information on the Blue Line project and put it in the public domain.
He further vowed to begin a public sector compensation survey and raise the compensation of doctors, nurses, and other health workers in the state, hoping to reduce the brain drain in the system.
