
Niger Delegation Meets President Doumbouya, Strengthening Guinea-Niger Friendship

A delegation from Niger, led by General Moussa Salaou Barmou and carrying a message from the President of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP) of Niger, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, was received by the President of the Transition and Head of State, President Mamadi Doumbouya, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Mohammed V Palace.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Prime Minister and Head of Government, the Minister Secretary General and Spokesperson for the Presidency, the Minister Director of the Presidential Cabinet, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy, and Finance, as well as senior military officials.
Introduced by the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Dr. Bernard Goumou, the head of the delegation, General Barmou, conveyed greetings from President General Abdourahamane Tchiani to his counterpart and brother, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya.

He also expressed the deep appreciation of his President for the attention given to Niger and the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland by the Guinean Head of State, as well as for the stance adopted by Guinean authorities in the aftermath of the CNSP’s assumption of power. According to the leader of the Nigerien delegation, this act further strengthens the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Guinean and Nigerien peoples.
