NA Standing Committee holds its 17th meeting

The National Assembly Standing Committee’s 17th session began on November 28 in Hanoi and would last only one day.

The committee, chaired by NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, is tasked with providing feedback on the results of the 4th session of the 15th National Assembly, which closed on November 15, as well as preparations for the legislature’s 2nd exceptional session and 5th regular session in May of next year.

Concerning the NA’s 2nd special session, Hue stated that the Prime Minister has submitted to the NA Standing Committee seven critical issues that must be addressed as soon as possible, including the national master planning in 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050; a draft amended Law on Medical Examination and Treatment; and a number of financial and budgetary difficulties, including remedies to problems and inadequacies at various toll stations and transportation infrastructure projects under BOT investment form.

The NA Standing Committee will investigate items that should be included on the agenda of the second extraordinary session.
