During a press conference focused on dairy matters, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador expressed his support for the peace pact put forth by Delia Quiroa, a search mother and member of the "10 de marzo" collective aims to initiate dialogue and foster cooperation with organized crime cartels, with the goal of ending armed conflicts and eradicating the distressing problem of forced disappearances.

Lopez Obradlor expressed his agreement and hopes for the attainment of peace. He stressed the shared desire for a society free from violence, homicides, and attacks, as these issues affect everyone. The President's comments were in response to the activist's call, who, in her quest to find her missing brother since March 2014, wrote a letter urging leaders of drug trafficking groups to establish a peace agreement that would halt disappearances, as reported by the agency.

Similarly, President Lopez Obrador issued a directive to criminals, urging them to conduct themselves "as good citizens." He reassured that there are always alternative paths available for those who choose not to resort to violence. Furthermore, he highlighted the positive impact of his social programs, suggesting that they have contributed to a reduction in the number of young individuals involved in criminal organizations. The President expressed confidence, albeit hypothetically, that there is a declining trend in the arrest of young people associated with criminal activities.

In the current context of Mexico, there is an alarming crisis of missing persons, with over 112,000 individuals reported missing and 52,000 unidentified bodies. Confronted with this distressing situation, the activist has proposed to the leaders of various cartels, including the Sinaloa, Northeast, Gulf, Tijuana, Jalisco New Generation, Zetas Old School, Salazars, Ciudad Juarez, Beltrán Leyva, and Michoacan Family and/or The Knights Templar, to sign a Social Pact. The aim of this negotiation would be to prevent and eradicate the disappearance of people in Mexico and promote peace.
