Federal Minister for National Health Services, Abdul Qadir Patel, has raised concerns about the mental stability of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, citing revealing medical reports. Speaking at a press conference, Patel disclosed that samples were taken from the former Prime Minister at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad following his arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case on May 9.
However, Patel revealed that Imran Khan was released before the medical report was submitted to the court, emphasizing that the PTI chief received preferential treatment from the higher judiciary. He assured the public that the report would be made available, as it is a “public document.”
Medical Reports Question Imran Khan’s Mental Stability
According to the disclosed medical report, Imran Khan’s mental stability is questionable. Patel highlighted the evaluation of a five-member panel of senior doctors, who expressed doubts about the former premier’s mental state. “This is your prime minister, and senior doctors are stating that his mental stability is questionable,” Patel stated.
Doubts Cast on PTI Chief’s Physical Injuries
Patel continued by alleging that during extensive conversations with Imran Khan, his actions did not exhibit the behavior of a mentally fit individual. He further questioned the absence of any mention of fractures in the PTI chairman’s medical reports, despite Khan wearing a leg cast for an extended period of five to six months. Patel posed a rhetorical question, asking if it is common for someone to undergo plastering for a wound on the skin or muscle.

Additionally, the minister revealed that Imran Khan’s urine sample was collected during the interrogation. Preliminary findings indicated the presence of toxic elements and excessive use of alcohol and cocaine.
Imran Khan’s recent arrest inside the premises of the Islamabad High Court sparked widespread protests across the country, with PTI activists and supporters clashing with the police and causing damage to public property. Rangers personnel, acting on the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) warrant, apprehended the PTI chief at the Islamabad High Court, where he was seeking bail in multiple cases.
