Mayor of Cancun, in the state of Quintana Roo, Ana Patricia Peralta, demanded that cab drivers who carry out blockades “leave confrontations aside”.
In response to the multiple blockades by cab drivers in the hotel zone of Cancun, Quintana Roo, the local mayor, Ana Patricia Peralta, warned that she will not allow the image of the tourist destination to be affected or security to be violated by some people.
The mayor of Cancun sent a message to cab drivers who have been blockading and “hunting” Uber drivers who have just started operations in the area.
“My friends, cab drivers, I am addressing you to call on you to put aside confrontations. I will not allow the image of the tourist destination and human safety to be violated by a few”, she said.
The mayor stated that her interest is to ensure that the rule of law is guaranteed and that peace always prevails in the region for both residents and tourists through dialogue.
