French Prime Minister intends to meet with Scholz in Berlin

Following recent tensions between Paris and Berlin over critical subjects such as energy, defense, and industrial policies, French Prime Minister @Elisabeth_Borne is due to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz ( @OlafScholz ) in Berlin this Friday.

Borne’s visit to Berlin is considered an attempt to rekindle Franco-German relations, which have been strained in recent months due to diverging viewpoints on a variety of topics, exacerbated by the crisis in Ukraine.

Similarly, a lack of communication among authorities is evident in the postponing of a joint ministerial council meeting, which was originally set for the end of October, according to the DPA agency.

According to the Elysee Palace, the French Prime Minister’s conversations with the German Chancellor are meant to defuse tensions before the two countries return to bilateral and European problems.
