Former Federal Commissioner of Information, Chief Edwin Clark, has called for Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to step down as running mate to PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and apologize to southern governors for allegedly betraying them.
Clark accused Okowa of hosting a meeting of southern leaders pushing for a southern presidency before accepting the running mate position. He added that the Delta state governor used the meeting to cover his own ambitions.
Clark went on to criticize Okowa for not speaking out against the atrocities committed by armed herdsmen and for financing Atiku Abubakar’s campaign with Delta state funds.
He also called for Okowa to apologize for deceiving his colleagues before stepping down from his Vice Presidential aspirations.
