Cultural Transformation and Youth Empowerment: Proposing Recommendations to ICESCO

Transforming Society Through Culture
During the 12th ICESCO conference held in Doha, the Minister for National Heritage and Culture in Islamabad, Jamal Shah, proposed several recommendations that aim to enhance the organization’s initiatives. The recommendations underscored the critical role that culture plays in shaping individuals and transforming them into positive contributors to their societies.
The Cultural Caravan Proposal
One of the key recommendations made by Minister Shah is the organization of a cultural caravan. Comprising tradition bearers from all ICESCO member states, this caravan is intended to tour each member state and interact with their local counterparts. As they journey through the various states, the participants would create transformative works of art and crafts. The tour would culminate in the next cultural capital during the subsequent ICESCO conference, taking the form of a festival and celebration. This proposal is particularly geared towards empowering children and promoting cultural exchange.
Nurturing Future Leaders
Another initiative proposed by Minister Shah targets the youth of all member states. This proposal involves organizing leadership camps and talent hunt events aimed at nurturing and empowering young individuals. The initiative seeks to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become future leaders in their respective societies.
Combating Religious Extremism Through Aesthetics
Addressing the issue of religious intolerance and extremism, particularly among religious seminary students, Minister Shah proposed introducing calligraphy lessons. The minister believes that integrating aesthetics into their education could help combat these issues and foster a more tolerant and accepting society.
Creating Islamic Public Monuments
The final recommendation made by Minister Shah involves the creation of large Islamic public monuments in all capital cities of the member states. These monuments would incorporate a blend of traditional and modern tools, such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and holograms. The primary purpose of these monuments would be to challenge extreme views about art and culture and promote a more comprehensive and inclusive understanding of the same.
A Vision for Cultural Exchange, Empowerment, and Inclusivity
In summary, Minister Jamal Shah’s proposals to ICESCO represent a vision for enhanced cultural exchange, youth empowerment, combating extremism, and promoting a more inclusive understanding of art and culture. By leveraging both traditional and modern tools, these proposals seek to create a transformative impact on societies across ICESCO member states.
