Colombian President Gustavo Petro is scheduled to meet with his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro in Caracas on March 20. This will be the fourth time the two leaders meet, with their last meeting being held on the border between the two countries to sign a trade agreement. Details of Petro’s new agenda in Venezuela have yet to be confirmed.
The meeting follows a private conversation between the Colombian ambassador in Venezuela, Armando Benedetti, and President Petro, in which the ambassador reiterated the good relations between the two nations, which were fully restored in August 2021 after a three-year break.
