Bangladesh Prime Minister emphasizes digital connectivity as key to building “smart Bangladesh” in a speech at Digital Bangladesh Fair-2023

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated that digital connectivity will be a key tool in transforming the country into a “smart Bangladesh” during a video message given at the inaugural ceremony of the Digital Bangladesh Fair-2023.

She said that smart citizens, smart economy, smart government and smart society will be built on the basis of digital connectivity.

The prime minister also expressed hope that digital goods will play a significant role in investments and exports.

She emphasized the importance of using ultra-modern technology to achieve the goal of building a Smart Bangladesh and mentioned that 5G services will be ensured in industrial regions. Furthermore, she highlighted the government’s efforts in establishing digital infrastructure, including the installation of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 and 2, the setting up of optical fiber cables, and increasing bandwidth capacity.
