According to Manila’s ambassador in Washington, US Vice President Harris will meet with Philippine President Marcos to discuss Taiwan.

Manila’s ambassador to Washington said on Thursday that tensions over Taiwan are likely to be on the agenda when U.S.vice-president Kamala Harris @KamalaHarris meets with Philippine President @bongbongmarcos next week.

Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez said, “I’m sure they’ll touch on the Taiwan situation,” adding that the Philippines wants to play a role in peaceful coexistence between the United States and China.

A senior administration official said on Tuesday that US Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the Philippine islands of Palawan on the disputed South China Sea.

The visit, scheduled for next Tuesday, will make Harris the highest-ranking American official to visit the island chain adjacent to the Spratly Islands.
