Former United States Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger said that the Iran-Saudi deal brokered by China is likely to complicate matters for Israel.
According to Kissinger, Israel will not be able to pressurize Iran with the signing of the agreement. “From now on, it would have to take into account Chinese interests if it wanted to keep trying to mount pressure on Iran,” Kissinger said.
China has played a significant role in the creation of “world order” by brokering the agreement between the two nations. “It has now made a significant move in that direction by mediating the agreement,” Kissinger said.
Saudi Arabia and Iran recently decided to resume diplomatic relations after years of strained relations.
