In response to the ongoing crisis in Myanmar, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Dang Hoang Giang, has urged all relevant parties to exercise restraint and engage in meaningful, inclusive dialogue to reach a peaceful and sustainable solution.
The Ambassador also called on the international community to support the efforts of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to promote dialogue and reconciliation, while respecting Myanmar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Furthermore, Ambassador Giang emphasized the need to ensure humanitarian and medical access to the people of Myanmar, especially women and children, in compliance with international humanitarian law.
Vietnam also welcomed the efforts of Indonesia, the current chair of ASEAN, in addressing the crisis and supported the close cooperation between ASEAN and the UN.
