The Federal Government has announced that it will distribute free flour to deserving families during the holy month of Ramadan. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday. The distribution will take place from 40 points established at the state-owned Utility Store Corporation (USC) in Islamabad on March 18th, and will benefit 185,000 deserving families.
The data of the deserving families will be collected from the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). The government aims to provide relief to the deserving and middle-class segments of society, as per the directions of PM Shehbaz Sharif. The concerned authorities have been directed to make adequate arrangements to facilitate the nationals and avoid long queues.
Apart from the distribution in Islamabad, the federal government will provide free wheat to a total of 15,800,000 deserving families across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). In addition, flour will be available at cheaper prices in Balochistan through 50 Ramazan bazaars.
This initiative will provide much-needed relief to deserving families during Ramadan and alleviate their financial burden.
