The Federal Cabinet approved the Lawyer’s Protection Bill 2023 on Friday, paving the way for it to be presented in parliament for final approval. The bill aims to protect legal practitioners in Pakistan, who have played a crucial role in the country’s constitutional development, according to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The Cabinet meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister in Islamabad, where he praised the lawyers’ contributions to the nation’s constitutional development. The Cabinet also approved an inquiry committee’s formation to extradite a citizen wanted by the Saudi government in a murder case, as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have an extradition agreement in place.
