Suresh Kumar, India’s deputy high commissioner to Pakistan, spoke at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Friday, stating that India has always sought better relations with Pakistan. He stressed that today’s diplomacy is focused on tourism, trade, and technology, stating that “money speaks its own language.”
Mr. Kumar noted that India did not stop trade with Pakistan, and it was Pakistan that suspended bilateral commerce with India after New Delhi revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in 2019. He added that it is important to find ways to change the current situation and problems, stating that India wants to move towards normal relations with Pakistan.
India has continued to assert that it seeks friendly relations with Pakistan on a normal basis, with the responsibility for fostering such a relationship in a setting free from terror and hostility on Islamabad.
