For those residing or commuting in the heart of Ljubljana, Slovenia, traffic patterns are about to change significantly. The Župančičeva Street section, located between Gosposvetska Street and Puharjeva Street, is now entirely closed to vehicular traffic. The closure, which commenced today, is expected to last until approximately the 27th of October. The reason behind this disruption is the ongoing construction of municipal infrastructure associated with the Schellenburg business-residential complex. Alternate routes are available via parallel streets.

Schellenburg Complex: A Blend of History and Modernity

Located at the site of the former Coliseum, the Schellenburg Complex is a project that carries significant historical and cultural weight. Named after Jakob pl. Schellenburg, a 17th-century financier and philanthropist who, along with his wife, donated most of their property to charity, the complex is a testament to Ljubljana’s rich past. The project aims to blend history with modernity, creating a space that is as luxurious as it is steeped in tradition.

Overseen by Tivoli, the developer of the residences and the investor of the complex, the project includes the Palais building with 110 new apartments and the Schellenburg villa with 14 new luxury apartments. In addition to the high-end residential space, the complex also houses business premises, including offices, retail spaces, and hospitality establishments. The grand opening of these facilities is scheduled for October 18, marking a significant milestone in the city’s urban development.

Details of the Schellenburg Complex

The Schellenburg Complex is not just an ordinary business-residential project. Its design and amenities reflect a thoughtful architectural design, high-quality materials, and a host of modern conveniences. These include a 24-hour concierge service, video surveillance of the building, floor heights ranging from 283 cm to 355 cm, large living areas, and even direct access from parking places to apartments and bicycle lifts.

Palais Schellenburg, with its 110 apartments, is designed to meet the highest modern living expectations. The six-story Palais building is crowned by an additional, slightly offset, seventh terraced floor, the so-called penthouse. The Villa Schellenburg project is a modern multi-apartment bourgeois villa, enveloped by greenery. The upper floor is laterally set back inside, and the south facade is designed as a winter garden that symbolizes the passage of nature and light into the building.

The neighborhood will provide a 24-hour concierge service and security. Parking spaces intended for Palais and Villa Schellenburg and business users are located in three basements under the building. Access to all parking spaces is via the ramp from Župančičeva Street. The parking spaces are strategically divided among visitors, business activity, and apartments.
