The municipality of Kabul set to sell coal at a subsidized rate

The municipality of Kabul will begin selling coal at a subsidized rate starting Saturday. The residents of Kabul can buy coal at a lower price after they get their paperwork approved by the concerned community leaders.

Representative of Kabul municipality, Nematullah Barakzai, in his statement, said, “people can go and get the coal they need to heat their houses by going to their community leaders and having cards that will be issued to them.”

One ton of coal is expected to be sold at the coal distribution centers for nine thousand afghanis.

The residents have welcomed the decision of the Islamic Emirate but have requested the government to further reduce the price of coal, citing deteriorating economic conditions.
