The Argentine Energy Secretary authorized increases in bioethanol. Both the sugarcane-based and corn-based varieties will be increased by 5%. It accumulates an increase of 99.62% so far this year.

The regulation fixes a 5% increase in the purchase price of bioethanol made from sugarcane for both cases, taking it from $ 112.839 to $ 118.482 as from November 3 and until the publication of a new price.
The price updates made by Energía reflect the variation of prices at the pump of YPF service stations in the city of Buenos Aires.

In August 2021, the Government put into effect the new Biofuels Regulatory Framework, which will be in force until 2030 as of Law 27,640, and created the Special Commission for the development of the sector.

A mandatory minimum cut of 12% bioethanol was established, and an eventual reduction to 9% with naphtha.
