Devastating Attack on Medical Facility in Dnipro:
A Russian missile on Friday targeted and struck a medical facility in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro, resulting in the tragic death of one person and leaving fifteen others injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took to Twitter to share the heartbreaking news. In a statement on social media, Zelensky wrote, “A rocket attack on a clinic in the city of Dnipro. As of now, one person was killed and fifteen were wounded.” Accompanying his words were a video capturing billowing smoke emanating from roofless buildings with blown-out windows. Zelensky also informed the public that rescue operations were underway at the scene to clear debris and save any remaining victims.
President Zelensky Condemns the Rocket Attack:
Local media outlets promptly shared video footage that showcased the heroic efforts of rescuers helping people, their faces stained with blood, navigate through corridors filled with rubble to escape the devastated clinic. The head of the regional military administration, Sergiy Lysak, had previously informed that the Dnipropetrosk region had been subjected to a massive attack overnight, involving rockets and drones. He revealed that the city of Dnipro had also experienced shelling during the night, which resulted in a house catching fire and two others sustaining damage.
While Russia, which initiated its full-scale invasion of Ukraine fifteen months ago, did not immediately provide any comments regarding the reported air strikes, they did claim that Ukraine had carried out attacks on two regions in southern Russia using a rocket and a drone. The situation remains tense and volatile, further intensifying the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
