Poland’s Defense Minister, Mariusz Błaszczak, has praised the Law on Homeland Defense as the fundamental basis for the development of the Polish Army.
The law, signed by President Andrzej Duda on March 18, 2022, came into effect on April 23, 2022, and introduced several new forms of military service and additional funding sources.
Its primary objective was to increase the defense budget, raise the number of Polish Army personnel, revive the reserve system, and enhance training opportunities for soldiers.
Minister Błaszczak took to Twitter on Saturday to commend the law’s implementation, stating that it has resulted in the introduction of new forms of military service and increased funding sources for the army.
He further acknowledged that the law on homeland defense has brought about positive changes in the Polish Army, and has paved the way for its further development.
