More than 400 conscript soldiers of the Lithuanian Army have taken their oath to serve the state in a ceremony held at a training battalion in Rukla, as per a press release by the Armed Forces.
The event saw Einoras Žiogas read the oath on behalf of all the newly-sworn soldiers, while also honoring the unit’s battle flag.
Žiogas, who has been an active and responsible soldier since his first day of service, was entrusted with the responsibility to lead his comrades during the ceremony.
During the first 11 weeks of their service, soldiers undergo basic training courses that cover various subjects such as military regulations, tactics, engineering, topography, communications, and medicine.
They are also trained on the proper use of weapons and communication equipment.
The Armed Forces expects these conscripts to uphold their duty and commitment to serve the state and its people.
