The Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed its strong condemnation of the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by a member of the Israeli government, Knesset members and extremists, under the protection of the Israeli police. The Foreign Ministry said that this act was a violation of the rules of international law and a provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world.

Respecting Jerusalem's Historical and Legal Situation

The ministry stressed the need to respect the historical and legal situation in Jerusalem, and not to prejudice Jordan’s role in managing endowments, caring for and protecting holy sites, in accordance with international resolutions. It also called for providing full protection for worshippers and stopping any racist or provocative practices that would fuel tension and instability.

Bahrain's support for peace

In a statement, the ministry reiterated Bahrain’s unequivocal support to international and regional efforts aimed at achieving de-escalation and promoting just and comprehensive peace in the region. It affirmed Bahrain’s unwavering support to the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy, the two-state solution, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
