Following the handover ceremony, Ambassador Cowell emphasised the strategic importance of the donation, saying, "I am proud to be able to gift spare Land Rover parts worth £400K to contribute to the Lebanese Armed Forces’ resilience and operational readiness on the frontlines amidst a dire economic crisis."

Land Rover Defender vehicles play a crucial role in the LAF's mobility operations, forming the backbone of their transport capabilities. The donated spare parts will enhance the operational capability of the LAF, especially of the Land Border Regiments, and will support them in their mission to defend the security and stability of Lebanon and its borders.

The British Ambassador further added, "Our UK teams with the Army’s leadership will continue to develop servicing, maintenance and equipment care procedures for the vehicles."

Since 2010, the UK has shown unwavering commitment to supporting Lebanon's security forces, donating more than £98 million through the CSSF. This consistent support has enabled the LAF to optimize its capabilities, modernise its equipment, and evolve into a professional armed force capable of defending Lebanon and maintaining security along its volatile border with Syria.
