Ugandan woman arrested in Nansana school director murder case

A 23-year-old woman was apprehended on charges of allegedly poisoning the director of Victoria Secondary School in Nansana, Wakiso District.

The director, Godwin Kansiime, was found dead on September 2. The suspect was arrested on Salaama Road, Makindye Division in Kampala City.

The discovery of Kansiime’s body in a bush in Nansomba Village led to immediate investigations. A post-mortem report revealed that the cause of death was poisoning, confirming the suspicions of foul play.

CCTV Footage and Discovery

The investigation took a significant turn when CCTV footage showed the deceased and the suspect leaving a bar together at approximately 6:15 am, on the day of the incident.

They were later seen checking into Nansana Inn Guest House. The discovery of Kansiime’s body was made when the door to their room was forced open after attempts to reach them failed.

The operators of the guest house along with the security guard were promptly arrested. They were interrogated to establish the chain of events leading to the unfortunate event.

Unfolding of the Investigation

Further investigations revealed an interesting development. A sum of money had been transferred from Kansiime’s phone to a suspicious number after his body was found. The police traced this number, which eventually led to the arrest of the primary suspect – the 23-year-old woman.

During the interrogation, the woman confessed to dropping a tablet into Kansiime’s drink. However, she claimed her intention was only to make him intoxicated and not to harm him in any way. The police are investigating this claim, as they believe the woman conspired with three other individuals to commit the crime. Two out of the three suspected accomplices have been arrested and are currently being detained.

Implications and Further Developments

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about safety and security. The arrest of the woman is the first step towards justice for Kansiime. However, the case is far from closed as the police continue to probe further into the matter, trying to uncover the entire plot and the individuals involved.

The case serves as a grim reminder of the necessity for vigilance and caution in our everyday lives. As the investigation continues, the community awaits justice for the deceased and hopes for a safer future.
