It was said in some media on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to get the weapons that are left by the American and NATO forces and now are with the Taliban in exchange for recognizing the Taliban's rule in Afghanistan.

An official of the White House denied the news published in the press on Friday, January 27, and also said that he cannot confirm the reports that the Taliban want to send weapons and ammunition to Russia.

The official of the White House added, "If the Taliban is to be recognized internationally and is sincere in its request for cooperation from the international community and assistance as the governing body in Afghanistan, it must stand by its commitments made in the Doha agreement and at the time of coming to power, which includes the treatment of women and girls".

It is estimated that the military equipment worth about 7 billion dollars, which the United States gave to the security and defense forces of the previous government of Afghanistan, remained there after the withdrawal of the US-led NATO forces and went to the Taliban.
