Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on Thursday that, Sweden and Finland to join NATO ultimately, despite their current spat with Turkey.
Alexander Grushko spoke at the discussion at the Valdai international club, which was dedicated to the militarization of the Baltic region.
Grushko said, “Ultimately, the process of accession, of formalizing the Finnish and Swedish membership will come to an end.
NATO is dreaming of that happening before the NATO summit in Vilnius that’s slated for summer. The protocols should be ratified”.
Grushko added, “On the other hand, I wouldn’t underestimate the depth of the contradictions between Sweden and Turkey.
But the main thing is that the Swedes and the Finns have made their choice.
