Lê Trung Hiu, deputy director of the Hà Ni Metropolitan Railway Management Board, stated that the flyover section of the metro line between Nhn and Hà Ni Station is expected to begin testing by the end of this year. The S9-Kim M Station’s underground segment will begin to be built the following year.
According to him, the repair will be carried out following attempts to address issues with ground clearance at the S11-Văn Miu Station.
Hiu revealed to a reporter for the Vietnam News Agency that the project was momentarily put on hold in August of this year because of issues with ground clearance. However, the issues were fixed, and compensation was finished, as per the directions from local officials. Despite being only four kilometers long, the underground segment travels through a heavily trafficked area of the central city. By the middle or end of next year, a robot that can dig tunnels could start operating.
The robot can dig 18 meters per day, but it will only be programmed to work at a speed of 10 meters per day in order to be safe. A two-phase trial for the flyover section of Metro Hà Ni will start the following month, according to an MRB official.
From 9 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, four to eight trains will operate throughout the first phase. Different emergency situations, such as a whole or partial loss of electricity, fire, and rescue, will be run on the trains during the second phase.
