Hundreds of people demonstrated outside the Chinese embassy in London late on Sunday, demanding that China’s zero-COVID policy be repealed.
According to reports, protesters conducted a peaceful protest, lit candles, and laid flowers in memory of the victims who died in the fire accident in Urumqi, China.
Protests spread across China over the weekend, reflecting growing public outrage over the harsh COVID-19 controls, as well as anger over Thursday’s deadly apartment fire in Urumqi, Xinjiang, in western China, in which at least ten people died and nine others were injured.
