TASHKENT, Uzbekistan – In a bid to enhance collaboration and promote high-tech projects, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed the Chief Executive Officer of Air Products, Seyfi Ghasemi, at a recent meeting held in Tashkent. The discussions revolved around the potential avenues for further cooperation with Air Products, a global leader in its field, aiming to boost strategic sectors of the Uzbekistan economy.

Enhancing Economic Cooperation
As part of the deliberations, President Mirziyoyev congratulated Seyfi Ghasemi on the signing of a significant purchase agreement for three industrial gas units of the Uzbekistan GTL plant located in Kashkadarya province. The agreement, backed by an impressive $1 billion in direct investments, is expected to have a substantial impact on the region’s industrial development.
Investments in Gas Chemical Complex
The meeting also celebrated Air Products’ involvement in another major venture, the MTO gas chemical complex situated in Bukhara province. With investments of at least $700 million, this project represents a significant stride toward advancing the country’s chemical industry. The collaborative efforts between Uzbekistan and Air Products are projected to yield remarkable outcomes in terms of economic growth and technological advancements.
Green Hydrogen Projects: A Sustainable Future
Emphasizing the importance of sustainable energy initiatives, both parties turned their attention towards promising green hydrogen projects in Uzbekistan. Saudi company ACWA Power emerged as a key partner in these endeavors. With the aim of reducing carbon emissions and fostering environmental sustainability, the cooperation between Uzbekistan and ACWA Power is poised to establish Uzbekistan as a frontrunner in the global green energy transition.
