President Arif Alvi Calls for Strengthening the Role of Federal Ombudsman for Speedy Justice

President Dr Arif Alvi has urged the Wafaqi Mohtasib to increase its public awareness campaign to educate citizens about its vital role in providing swift and cost-effective justice against the maladministration of federal government organizations. The President emphasized the need for enhancing the capacity of the Federal Ombudsman and expanding its reach to remote areas of the country to address people’s grievances at their doorstep.

President Alvi also highlighted the urgency of providing immediate relief to those who suffer from injustices and excesses at the hands of government officials. These remarks came during a meeting with the Wafaqi Mohtasib of Pakistan, Mr Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, who presented the Annual Report-2022 of the institution at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Mr Qureshi briefed the President on the achievements of the Federal Ombudsman in delivering justice to citizens against the maladministration of government organizations during 2022. To ensure speedy and cost-effective justice, President Alvi urged the Federal Ombudsman to strengthen its capacity and extend its reach to the far-flung areas of the country.
