Polish authorities have recently detained three more individuals suspected of operating as part of a spy network that was dismantled earlier this month. Deputy Minister of the Coordinator of Special Services, Stanislaw Żaryn, confirmed the arrests and stated that the case is still developing and requires further action.
The spy network was reportedly operating on behalf of Russian special services and was involved in carrying out intelligence activities against Poland. The network was also said to be preparing diversionary acts on behalf of Russian intelligence. The operation to dismantle the network was carried out by Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), who detained nine foreign nationals from across the eastern border suspected of cooperating with Russian special services.
The Polish government has been taking strict measures to strengthen its security and prevent any attempts to undermine its national security. In recent years, Poland has been increasingly concerned about the activities of foreign intelligence agencies on its soil, particularly from its eastern neighbor, Russia.
The dismantling of the spy network is a significant achievement for the ABW and an indication of the agency’s success in detecting and neutralizing potential threats to Poland’s security. The agency has been working tirelessly to monitor and track down any suspicious activity in the country, and their efforts have paid off in this case.
