Poland has opened a visa processing center in Cebu, Philippines, aiming to attract more skilled workers from the country. Polish Vice Consul Tomasz Danel highlighted the high demand for construction workers, welders, pipe fitters, and drivers in Poland.

The establishment of the visa application center at the Cebu Business Park marks the first such center outside the Polish Embassy in Manila, making it more convenient for individuals in the Visayas and Mindanao regions to apply for a visa to Poland. Initially, the center will be able to process a minimum of 10 visa applications per day.

Danel noted the increasing interest among Filipinos in seeking employment opportunities in Poland. He mentioned that last year alone, the Polish government issued over 2,000 work permits to Filipinos, representing a significant rise of nearly 100% compared to previous years. Additionally, in the first five months of 2023, there has been a doubling in the number of Filipinos applying for work permits.

With expertise sought in construction, welding, pipe fitting, and driving, Poland sees Filipinos as valuable contributors to address its manpower needs
