There is a growing demand for psychological and psychiatric care in Poland.

After more than two years of the pandemic, we are recording a definite increase in the demand for psychological and psychiatric care,” said Health Minister Adam Niedzielski. The head of the health ministry opened the conference “Psychiatry reform: systemic challenges related to changing the model of mental health care organization.”

He noted that four years have passed since the start of the adult psychiatry reform and three years since the start of the child and adolescent psychiatry reform.

– But it is the latter reform that is definitely more advanced today. In the youngest children by 30 percent and in adolescents by up to 60 percent. – said the minister.

As he stated, “without psychiatry reform, the system would not be able to handle this demand. We would have a disaster.”
