The Ministry of Health in Morocco recently shared an update on the health status of individuals affected by the devastating earthquake that rocked the nation on September 8. According to the ministry, a total of 16,076 cases had received medical care, with 5,845 admitted to hospital units and 10,231 admitted to mobile health units.
Classification of Injuries
Out of the total cases, 4,592 were classified as lightly injured while 1,105 were reported to have suffered serious injuries. Currently, 375 patients remain hospitalized, with 54 under intensive care.
Recovery Rate Post-Disaster
The number of people who have recovered from their injuries stands at 14,885, indicating a high recovery rate. This statistic underscores the effectiveness of the healthcare system’s response to the disaster. Despite the considerable challenges posed by the earthquake, the health sector has been able to manage the situation effectively, taking care of thousands of injured individuals and helping them recover.
