In the latest update on COVID-19 in Japan, health officials reported 7,055 new cases on Friday, which is 660 fewer cases than the previous day. Tokyo, which has been hit hard by the pandemic, reported 631 new cases, down 49 from the previous day.
The number of hospitalized patients with severe symptoms nationwide decreased to 96, which is a decrease of nine from the previous day. However, 48 coronavirus-related deaths were reported nationwide.
In response to the ongoing pandemic, new guidelines have been implemented regarding face mask usage. Passengers on trains and buses will now be recommended to wear face masks during rush hour or when public transportation is particularly crowded. Additionally, students will not be required to wear face masks during school activities. These adjustments are intended to strike a balance between public safety and practicality.
