Health Minister, Guillermo Jaramillo has denounced that the care reform promoted by government has been demonized. The official, who previously served as the Secretary of Government in the Bogota Mayor's Office under Gustavo Petro and as the former mayor of Ibague, has been appointed by President to address the concerns surrounding the health reform led by former Minister Carolina Corcho. However, the official not only disagrees with the content of the reform on a general political level but also finds the former official's attitude irritating, which has further increased opposition and disapproval.

In an interview with the local press, health minister stated that one of his goals to obtain the approval of the care bill is to establish dialogues with the liberals so that they give their vote in favor, because the director of the party, former president César Gaviria Trujillo announced his retirement from the project.

In addition, the health minister emphasized the significance of reaching agreements with the conservative and U parties, despite their declarations of independence. He believes that securing their support is crucial in order to garner approval for the reform, which has become one of President Gustavo Petro's top priorities.

On the other hand, the official assured that the health reform is not designed to add bureaucracy to the system. He acknowledged that the reform has been "demonized" due to a lack of comprehensive and accurate information about the project. During Minister Corcho's tenure, there was significant talk about "socialization" of the initiatives. Unfortunately, these efforts were met with poor acceptance and were considered detrimental. Jaramillo aims to rectify this by providing more extensive and transparent information about the reform, dispelling misconceptions, and highlighting its positive aspects.

The private sector and opposition parties have expressed apprehension regarding President Gustavo Petro's proposed approach to ending the EPS (Health Promoting Entities) and the increased control that the state would assume as outlined in the project. They have raised concerns about the potential implications and consequences of such a shift.
