Promoting Knowledge and Understanding of SRHR

Under the organization's project "Her Future Her Choice," the dialogue sessions aimed to equip families with accurate information and practical strategies regarding key issues of SRHR faced by young people. By engaging parents and community leaders, Point of Progress sought to facilitate meaningful dialogues and improve communication skills within families.

Speaking at the opening of the dialogue session, Sekanawo Mwatibu, the Project Manager at Point of Progress, expressed optimism about the project's impact on eliminating early pregnancies among youth in the area. With a target of reaching 4,000 direct beneficiaries, including adolescent girls, young women, readers, and parents, the project aims to have a total reach of 16,000 individuals. Mwatibu also highlighted the organization's plans to expand the project beyond the current districts of implementation.

Collaboration for Success

Group Village Headman Padzuwa emphasized the need for greater collaboration among stakeholders to effectively combat child and early marriages. Recognizing the complexity of the issue, the project is being implemented with support from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) through Oxfam, in collaboration with other NGOs such as FPAM, CAVOC in Lilongwe, and Balaka districts. This collaborative effort enhances the project's scope and effectiveness in addressing the challenges related to SRHR and promoting positive change within communities.
