Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi, Minister of State/SAPM for Industries and Production, has announced that the government is taking all necessary measures to facilitate rural development-driven economic growth by improving financial inclusion in agriculture sector. This would boost productivity and exports, he added.
The minister made these remarks during the closing ceremony of an international training course on productivity gainsharing in agribusiness enterprises organized jointly by the National Productivity Organization (NPO) and Asian Productivity Organization (APO) in Tokyo, Japan.
Minister Qureshi expressed the government’s commitment to supporting the agriculture sector, and stated that initiatives and platforms connecting international practices can drive further development in the sector. He emphasized that the agricultural sector is crucial for the country’s economic growth, food security, employment generation, and poverty alleviation, particularly at the rural level.
The minister further stated that the government is closely monitoring key crops, formulating policies, and planning interventions to ensure an uninterrupted supply of basic food items at affordable prices in the country.
