According to reports, in the next two months, Florida University officials are considering prohibiting students from using TikTok at 12 different locations on campus, citing a “obligation to protect our research.”
Jimmy Patronis, state chief financial officer, tweeted that having TikTok on college campuses is “very concerning.”
Despite being the most inventive nation on the planet, we are letting this app run unchecked. This needs to be a top priority for all Chancellors, and Trustees should step in if they don’t.
TikTok has already been blocked from networks at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Oklahoma, while the University of Florida has already advised students to delete the app.
