The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, spoke before the main Argentine business leaders at a luncheon organized by the Inter-American Council for Trade and Production.
The Minister of Economy expressed his opposition to the implementation of a shock economic policy and announced that in the “next two weeks” the tax information exchange agreement with the US will be signed.
Massa said that “it is important that we follow a path to recover reserves, to increase our exports, aligning incentives, but taking care of the value and income of Argentines, and that is with a methodical path”.
“Let’s be careful: those who desperately ask for a devaluation are destroying the value of their companies. Not only are they destroying the income of Argentines, but they are also destroying the value of their companies in dollars,” warned the minister.
“You are going to see me walking a methodical, determined path, avoiding obstacles or solving them, but not facile in trying to solve problems today that only kick for tomorrow and destroy the value of the Argentine economy and of the Argentine people,” added Massa.
