Kiên Giang makes significant strides in the rural and agricultural sectors

With the use of its advantages, Kiên Giang Province has successfully developed rural areas and agricultural output, enhancing the quality of life for farmers.
In order to secure food security and exports, the province’s agriculture production has grown significantly in scope and quality, according to Mai Văn Hunh, deputy standing secretary of the province Party Committee.
Farmers have effectively contributed to agriculture’s restructuring and technology acceptance, he claimed. In addition, he noted, they are now growing crops that are in high demand and have secure markets.
According to him, tremendous development in rural areas has allowed them to catch up to urban areas in terms of development. The province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development claims that during the past 15 years, agriculture has expanded at a rapid and stable rate, and the added value of farm products has increased.
The top producer of rice in the nation, the Cu Long (Mekong) Delta province, produced 3.8 million tonnes of grain in the first nine months of this year.
The department estimates that the harvest will ultimately reach 4.4 million tonnes as it continues. High-quality varieties made up 97.3% of the 3.8 million tonnes.
