The Colombian government is considering allowing 24-hour vehicle circulation at the border with Venezuela, according to the Minister of Foreign Trade, Germán Umaña. The move is seen as a beneficial opportunity for the border area between Colombia and Venezuela.
Minister Umaña stated that there is a need to work towards replacing the challenges faced by the region over the last seven years. The North Santander region, in particular, has dealt with issues such as informality, money laundering, smuggling, and violence. Therefore, it is crucial to contribute from the territory to bring positive changes to North Santander and Tachira.
The Colombian government aims to reactivate the economies of both nations through increased exports and imports, while also combating crime through productivity, according to the Minister.
