A 45-year-old man from Czech lost his life in Mladá Boleslav city after being shot by the police on Thursday night.
According to reports, the individual caused extensive harm to a local dormitory in Bezděčín district and Mladá Boleslav airport, including hangars and related equipment.
Despite receiving several warnings, the man continued to behave aggressively towards the officers who had arrived at the scene.
The police used various measures to subdue the individual, including tear spray and a taser, but when they failed, they had no choice but to shoot him.
Despite receiving immediate first aid, the man succumbed to his injuries.
The country’s General Inspection of Security Forces will investigate the police’s handling of the situation to ensure transparency and accountability.
