Karachi police investigators have confirmed that a horrifying incident occurred in Orangi Town on May 7, resulting in the tragic deaths of two innocent youths. Mistaken for robbers by a mob, the young men fell victim to a brutal attack that shocked the community.

Arrests Made in Connection with Unintentional Killings

Recently, six policemen were apprehended on charges of unintentionally causing the death of an innocent citizen and injuring two others. The incident took place in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area, where the victims were mistaken for robbers. This unfortunate event further underscores the need for caution and thorough assessment before taking any action.

The two youths, identified as Babar and Nazeer, were mercilessly tortured by enraged citizens on May 9. According to police officials, the trio was on their way to attend a wedding ceremony when they were mistaken for criminals. The residents were prompted to apprehend them, leading to a violent assault on the three young men.

Disturbingly, a video capturing the brutal torture surfaced online, providing a harrowing account of the tragic event. Two of the youths lost their lives, while their companion, Owais, sustained injuries. In a shocking turn of events, the investigation revealed that the stolen motorcycle found at the scene had no connection to the victims. It became evident that all three youths were innocent, wrongfully targeted by the mob.

As the investigation progressed, the police identified 150 individuals with the help of surveillance footage and arrested three suspects. Authorities have assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining persons involved in this heinous crime.

This distressing incident is reminiscent of a similar tragedy that occurred in October last year in Machar Colony. Two employees of a telecom company were brutally killed by an enraged mob, falsely believing them to be dacoits. The victims had been sent to check the signals of the cellular network in the area, but sadly, they were met with aggression instead.

In light of these incidents, there is a pressing need to prioritize public safety and create awareness campaigns to prevent such unfortunate occurrences. The authorities must work diligently to improve vigilance and ensure the safety of innocent individuals who fall victim to mistaken identities.
